    Mayor Doug Findlater rose and reported that Council had selected a preferred proponent for the development of a Municipal Hall/Civic Centre at 3641 Elliott Road and that the District will now enter into negotiations for a possible contract with New Town/Sturgess Group regarding its proposed development at the site. The conceptual design proposal presented for 3641 Elliott Road calls for a two-phased approach.

  • Spring street sweep has begun

    Spring has sprung up around the Central Okanagan and that means it’s time for the annual street sweep.

    City of Kelowna crews are preparing to clean up the winter debris and they’re asking residents to help get the job done properly.

    Street sweeping removes the dirt and sand that has accumulated on the roads and bike lanes during the winter. This is an important clean-up operation because it makes a smoother and safer ride for cyclists and motorists.

    A City of Vernon contractor will be conducting drilling investigation to collect soil information for a proposed utility and pavement structure upgrade. Watch for construction workers and flaggers April 10 and 11 in the following areas and please slow down:

    April 10: 32 Avenue between 27 Street and 30 Street. 35 Street between 25 Avenue and 30 Avenue.
    April 11: Pottery Road, between Highway 6 and 15 Street.
