  • Kelowna road closures for the first week of August

    KELOWNA - Beginning Tuesday, Aug. 4, until Saturday, Aug. 8, paving on Springfield Road between Monterey Road to Rutland Road South will reduce traffic to one travel lane in each direction from 7 a.m. and 7 p.m.
  • Smith Creek Traffic Calming Construction

    Traffic calming measures are currently being installed in the Smith Creek area of West Kelowna. They are expected to continue until November 30, 2014 with minimal impact to residents.

    Three speed cushions will be installed in the area. One cushion will be located on Wild Horse Drive, with two on Ironridge Road. Eight 50 km/h enhanced pavement markings are also set to be installed at various locations including Asquith Road, Reece Road, Elliott Road and Shetler Drive.
  • West Kelowna council highlights: June 10, 2014

    Municipal Hall/Civic Centre
    Mayor Doug Findlater rose and reported that Council had selected a preferred proponent for the development of a Municipal Hall/Civic Centre at 3641 Elliott Road and that the District will now enter into negotiations for a possible contract with New Town/Sturgess Group regarding its proposed development at the site. The conceptual design proposal presented for 3641 Elliott Road calls for a two-phased approach.

    A proposed donation of almost 20 acres of land, and commitments from Okanagan College and the City of Salmon Arm mean the possibility of a downtown campus in Salmon Arm is getting closer.
