    KELOWNA - In an effort to promote safe bicycle riding habits in the Central Okanagan, Kelowna RCMP officers and City of Kelowna bylaw enforcement officers will be ticketing children who are spotted following the rules of the road.

    Kamloops, BC – The City of Kamloops and the Government of Canada are nearing the end of year four of the five-year Homelessness Partnering Strategy (HPS) funding agreement. Between 2014 and 2019, over $3 million will have been distributed to the City for initiatives aimed at preventing and reducing homelessness by providing direct support and funding to the community.
  • New Water Rates In Effect

    West Kelowna Council has adopted new water rates with the first of four consecutive annual increases taking effect January 1, 2018, levies to be charged quarterly. Further rate increases will occur on January 1, 2019, 2020 and 2021. By 2021, all West Kelowna Water System rate payers will be receiving the same quality of water and same level of service and annual costs for all users is estimated to be $907.

    Residents will see the new rates reflected on their April 2018 Utility Bill.
  • 9th Annual Heap the Honda Children’s Book Drive

    Kamloops, BC – The 9th annual Heap the Honda Children’s Book Drive, sponsored by Kamloops Honda in partnership with Literacy in Kamloops (LinK), takes place January 6-27, 2018. The goals of this project are to increase book ownership in all homes and to encourage a love of reading. Over the past eight years, more than 80,000 children’s books have been given away.

    Christmas is all about sharing and this year an abundance of toys and gift cards were donated to the Salvation Army to help support local families in need with their Sharing Christmas Program.

    As part of its annual major maintenance program, Recreation Services has completed the installation of disable accessible doors at both the north and south entrances in the Priest Valley Arena & Gym building.
