  • Regional District 2017 compost bin sale

    Residents across the Regional District of Okanagan-Similkameen (RDOS) can pre-purchase wholesale compost bins until March 21 at participating locations. The RDOS is offering free composting workshops in March and April.

    The FreeGarden Earth Compost Bin™ is available for $44 plus taxes. A curved black container, the compost bin helps break down garden waste, leaves, uncooked fruits and vegetables. It is a great system for creating rich compost for home gardens.
  • Skaha Hills launches $48 million phase as PLAY Winery opens


    PENTICTON – Following the success of Phase I and II, Skaha Hills, the resort-style, residential community, announced the launch of its newest Phase today. Phase III, The Vistas, will showcase 24 terraced villa homes of a design never seen in the Okanagan before.

    The Vistas combine the best traits of a condo, a townhome, and a rancher into one unique concept. At full build-out the new phase totals $48 million. Homes will be released for sale on July 15.
  • Regional District Okanagan-Similkameen compost bin sale

    PENTICTON - The Regional District of Okanagan-Similkameen is working with business and municipal partners for a short term compost bin sale. Until March 21st residents can pre-purchase compost bins from participating locations. The bins purchased will be collected starting April 22, Earth Day.  
  • Elementary school cooking program on the way

    In collaboration with the Okanagan Young Professionals (OYP) Collective and chefs from top restaurants in Kelowna, Growing Chefs! successfully piloted its Classroom Gardening and Cooking Program in two Kelowna elementary school classrooms. Now they are hoping to grow their program and need your help. All you have to do is dine at your favourite participating restaurant or visit a partner organization and they will donate $1 from select items to the program.
