    KAMLOOPS - Volunteer Kamloops is seeking volunteers for the following local clubs and foundations:
  • South Okanagan rivals battle in Interior Division final

    The Penticton Vees and West Kelowna Warriors will battle for the Ryan Hatfield Memorial Trophy, the Interior Division Championship, starting Friday, March 18, at the SOEC. The two South Okanagan rivals meet in the post-season for the second straight season and the third time in the last four years.
  • Where to volunteer in Kamloops this week

    Canadian Cancer Society
    Gift Wrapping Volunteers – This December the local Kamloops Unit of the Canadian Cancer Society will be providing Gift Wrap by Donation at Aberdeen Mall for the entire month. As you can imagine, it takes hundreds of volunteers to make this program successful. We need your help! Donations of time are just as valuable as donations of money, and we would be so grateful for a gift of your time for a four-hour shift.
  • Volunteer Highlights for Aug. 13 to 20

    Western Canada Theatre
    VW Turtle River Race Ticket Seller - Volunteers are needed to help Western Canada Theatre raise funds by selling raffle tickets for our 14th Annual VW Turtle River Race. Responsibilities include tracking the number of tickets sold during shifts, handling monies, documenting sales, and reporting to the fundraising coordinator. Volunteers should have good communication and numeracy skills. Event day is Sun. Sept. 20. 19+ to volunteer.

    KAMLOOPS - A new exhibit of oil paintings by Darryl Nelson will be on display at the Kamloops Arts Council Main Gallery, Old Courthouse Cultural Centre, from June 4 to 24.

    Certificate of Recognition
    Mayor Doug Findlater, on behalf of Council, presented Certificates of Recognition for the extraordinary efforts taken to save the life of Mr. Dennis Savage on March 12, 2014, who collapsed in full cardiac arrest while playing a game of senior hockey at Royal LePage Place arena. This proactive hockey group had purchased an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) eight years ago and they it have ready on the bench for each hockey game.
