    This weekend marks the kick off to Community Clean-Up Month-- and to mark the occasion a crew of enthusiastic volunteers will head to a popular recreation corridor to clean up garbage-- left behind by a careless few. And they’re challenging you to do the same—to take even a small portion of your day to do a clean-up in your own neighborhood.

    The clean-up kickoff event is an annual one, organized in a new locale each year by the Regional District Waste Reduction office.

    VICTORIA - British Columbians who are interested in cutting their own Christmas tree should obtain their permit online or contact their local district or FrontCounter BC office.
  • Chase RCMP mischief, theft and break-ins report

    On October 1st, Chase RCMP received a complaint of theft of an all-terrain vehicle in the 1800 block of Chase-Falkland Road.  The owner stated that sometime overnight the side-by-side ATV was taken from the rural property.  Police examined the scene and took down the details of the machine.  On October 4th, the owner called police to state that he had found the ATV in the woods at the back of his property.  No suspects have been identified at this time.
