  • Holiday Office Closures at City of West Kelowna

    Happy holidays from the City of West Kelowna.

    Our administrative offices will be closed Christmas Day through New Year’s Day, but emergency and essential services will be provided during this time. Those offices that will be closed are:
  • Knox Mountain Drive set to progressively open

    Now that springtime temperatures have arrived, the bottom half of Knox Mountain Drive will be open to traffic starting tomorrow. The gate to the first lookout will open at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday morning with the upper half of Knox Mountain Drive set to open in two weeks, weather permitting.

    Canada 150 Flags Presentation
    Central Okanagan-Similkameen-Nicola MP Dan Albas presented flags to be flown at city facilities in recognition of Canada’s 150th anniversary of confederation, which will be officially celebrated July 1, 2017. City staff has also requested to use the Canada 150 logo for decorative banners on Boucherie Road Wine Trail and Westbank Centre.

    The City of West Kelowna wishes everyone happy holidays and reminds the public of the upcoming office closures and the services that will continue to be provided throughout the winter break.

    City Hall will be closed from 3:00 p.m. Friday, December 23, through 8:30 a.m. Tuesday, January 3. Administrative offices for Operations on Elliott Road, Utilities on Bartley Road and West Kelowna Fire Rescue at 2708 Ollala Road will also be closed.

    The Regional District of Okanagan-Similkameen (RDOS) is asking residents, property owners and businesses at Apex Mountain Resort to comment on options for the development of a waste transfer station. An online survey has been set up and two public open houses are scheduled for early December.
  • Get ready to roll Penticton, the garbage carts are at the gates

    PENTICTON - The City of Penticton is excited to announce that the first wave of new carts has arrived. Delivery will start ahead of schedule. Staff are working diligently to guarantee the new garbage, recycle, and yard waste carts will be ready to roll on Sept. 1 with an aim for delivery to be complete by mid-September.
