  • High water affects ‘Go Fish’ youth urban fishery

    There’s some good news about this year’s ‘Go Fish’ urban youth fishery program.

    Approximately 500 young rainbow trout will be stocked late this week in the Hall Road fishing pond in Mission Creek Regional Park ready for youngsters to once again experience some fishing fun starting this Sunday, April 30th.

    Unfortunately due to the unprecedented high water level in Shannon Lake Regional Park, the program there has been postponed by a week.
  • Go Fish youth urban fishery ready for 10th year

    CENTRAL OKANAGAN - Two special areas are stocked and ready for youngsters to once again experience fishing fun this Sunday.

    Staff from the Freshwater Fisheries Society of B.C. and Summerland Trout Hatchery have added approximately 1,250 young rainbow trout to the fishing areas in Shannon Lake Regional Park and the Hall Road pond in Mission Creek Regional Park.
  • Stocked and ready for youngsters to ‘Go Fish’

    Over the past eight years, more than 34,000 young rainbow trout have been stocked in two Central Okanagan fishing areas for the annual ‘Go Fish’ program for youngsters.
  • Open House in Shannon Lake Regional Park

    You’re invited to learn about a proposed project for Shannon Lake Regional Park that would provide more accessible opportunities for fishing.

    Regional Parks Services staff will be on hand for an Open House in Shannon Lake Regional Park, located at Swite Road and Shannon Lake Road in West Kelowna.  It goes from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, June 24.

    There’s still time to get in on the free ‘Spring Tracks Walking Club’ that gets you outside and active.

    The beginner walking program runs Monday and Wednesday mornings at 9:00.
