  • Lake Country again receives Canadian Award for Financial Reporting

    Lake Country, BC – The Canadian Award for Financial Reporting has been awarded to the District of Lake Country by the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA) for its 2016 annual financial report. Chief Administrative Officer, Alberto De Feo presented the Award to Chief Financial Officer Tanya Garost and Finance staff members Annie Lynch and Richard Wagner at a televised Council meeting Tuesday, December 19, 2017.

  • Thompson Rivers University signs deal with Indian university for students to study and work in BC

    KAMLOOPS, BC – CHANDIGARH, INDIA – Thompson Rivers University (TRU) and the Maharaja Ranjit Singh Punjab Technical University have signed a memorandum of understanding that will allow students from the Punjabi technical university to study and work in BC.

  • Okanagan Basin Water Board pushes province to make invasive mussels a priority

    As the Okanagan Basin Water Board (OBWB) watches the fall-out of the discovery of invasive mussels in Montana, only a few hours drive from B.C., and with news that the B.C. Government is getting ready to announce its latest budget, the board is calling on the province to include proper mussel prevention funding.

    The call comes in a letter sent to B.C.
