  • Okanagan Water Board hosts free invasive mussel inspection training

    KELOWNA - The Okanagan Basin Water Board and its WaterWise Program are hosting a free “Don't Move A Mussel - Invasive Mussel Inspection Training Workshop” with B.C. Ministry of Environment on Monday, August 17, from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in the Cook Street Boat Launch parking lot.
  • Lakeshore Road interruptions for final paving, Cook to Lexington

    KELOWNA Beginning Friday, May 22 at 6 a.m., final paving will be underway on Lakeshore Road from Cook Road to Lexington Drive, including the Cook, Truswell and Lexington intersections. The work will continue until Sunday, May 24 at 7 p.m.

    During this time, thru traffic restrictions and temporary detours are to be expected. Finishing work will occur on Sunday, May 31.

  • MP Report for Okanagan-Coquihalla: Invasive species can be costly to the environment & taxpayer

    Invasive species are sadly not new to Okanagan-Coquihalla. Cattle Ranchers have battled with the loss of valuable grazing lands on account of invasive weeds as much as fruit growers and farmers know the frustration of crop loss as a result of the European Starling.
  • West Kelowna council highlights Sept. 10

    Memorial Park Parking Lot Improvements
    West Kelowna Council directed staff to complete upgrades and expansion to the South Parking Lot at Memorial Park, using asphalt grindings which is expected to cost significantly less than the budget of $153,000 for paving of the parking lot. An additional 21 parking spots will be created.
  • Motorists asked to avoid use of Angus Drive

    As construction continues on Phase 3 of the Gellatly Road Upgrade and the weather improves generating more traffic to West Kelowna’s beautiful waterfront, motorists are being encouraged to avoid use of Angus Drive as a detour whenever possible.
