Wine Wednesday: Mayhem Pinot Blanc
Brother and sister Jak Meyer and Terry Meyer Stone have been merrily co-existing in the Okanagan wine world for the last few years. He with his popular Meyer Family Vineyards winery in Okanagan Falls and she with a micro Garagiste style winery called Anarchist Mountain Vineyards in Osoyoos. They sat down one day with their spouses, Andrew Stone and Janice Stevens, and decided it was high time they joined forces and the result was literally — Mayhem. They are making a variety of Mayhem wines at Meyer Family Vineyards now including: a Rosé, Pinot Gris, Pinot Blanc, Riesling, Gewürztraminer, a Merlot Cabernet Franc blend, and a Cabernet Franc.
And what does the future hold for this new brand? Terry says, "We are currently doing concept designs for a winery next year likely in Kaleden. In the meantime we have a pop up store on Fridays and Saturdays in the hut at Meyer Family Vineyards and tastings Tuesday through Friday by appointment at Meyer."

The grapes were sourced from Kelowna. After the slow ferment maintained at a cool temperature in stainless steel tanks, the wine was further aged sur lees for five months. The nose opens with floral aromas alongside soft peach, and pear. The peach and pear carry over onto the palate accompanied by a soft minerality and bright acidity.
"The winemaking here does justice to an underappreciated varietal. The wine has aromas and flavours of citrus and apple, with good weight on the palate and refreshing crispness on the finish. 91," wine critic John Schreiner said.
