Wine of the Week: The Chase from C.C. Jentsch Cellars
The B.C. wine industry lost another beloved member. News of the recent passing of Chris Jentsch of C.C. Jentsch Cellars has saddened the community. Chris and his wife Betty both grew up in the Okanagan orchard industry and eventually converted their own land to vineyards and went into the wine business with great success. Chris came from a long line of farmers dating back to 1929.
The winery is located on the storied Golden Mile in Oliver and has become a destination for wine lovers. You can find their website here.

62% Merlot, 23% Malbec, 12% Cabernet Franc, 3% Cabernet Sauvignon
This is C.C. Jentsch’s flagship red blend. Four estate grown varietals are showcased here. Merlot dominates this Bordeaux style blend that offers robust flavours, medium body and smooth texture. On the nose, black cherry aromas with hints of new leather and light oak are followed by cherry, plum & strawberry jam flavours on the palate with smooth tannins and a medium finish.
