Wine of the Week: Daydreamer Rosé
Rachel and Marcus Ansems own and operate Daydreamer Wines in beautiful Naramata. Here they operate their vineyard without systemic fungicides, herbicides and pesticides and small batch winemaking, with a sustainable approach.
Marcus hails from Australia and is a 2nd generation winemaker with an impressive CV that includes becoming the 5th Master of Wine in Canada and the only University qualified winemaker-viticulturist MW in the country. And on top of all of that, this couple is lovely and super fun – make sure to follow them on Instagram, they have crazy cute Babydoll sheep.
2020 Daydreamer Rosé - $25
This dry rosé is made predominantly from Pinot Noir. The grapes were destemmed and left on skins for 18 hours prior to bleeding the free run into neutral French oak barriques for natural fermentation. The wine is soft, creamy and floral.
