Today is International Chardonnay Day and I will gladly raise a glass to celebrate my favourite variety.

Here in B.C. our fabulous wineries are making a gorgeous lineup of Chardonnays ranging from unoaked to oaked, from buttery to steely and everything in between so grab a bottle of your style and make a toast.

Mirabel Vineyards is a boutique winery in Southeast Kelowna that is a relatively new addition to the scene. As premium grape growers for many years, Doug and Dawn Reimer decided to use their grapes to make their own wine. The result has been a super success with an award-winning pinot noir, Chardonnay, blanc de noir sparkling wine (wine club members only) and a rosé on offer.

Located at 3740 Hart Rd. East Kelowna, wine tastings are available as well as a special Charcuterie & Wine Tasting Experience. More information on the website here.

2019 Chardonnay $32
An elegant wine crafted to reveal a vanilla buttercream aroma intertwined with a savoury undertone. It offers a full mouth feel with flinty notes that develop into baked honey crisp apple on the palate combined with hints of lemon zest. Leads to a soft yet lengthy finish.
