Wine of the Week: Artakama 2019 Pinot Noir Magnum
Artakama is a natural, organic wine created by the producers of Le Vieux Pin and La Stella under the guidance of celebrated winemaker Sev Pinte. The name means desire and search for truth and the wines are in sync with the new trend of natural winemaking that has hit our new world.
The label has four wines in production including Pinot Noir, Syrah, Muscat and Viognier/Roussane. All of which are made exclusively in magnum size only except for the new 2020 Muscat. The Pinot Noir is beautiful and I highly recommend it. Read more about the winery and how to order wine HERE.
2019 Pinot Noir Magnum (1.5L) $69.99
More delicate and more floral than the previous 2018 vintage. It has suggestions of a wonderful and gentle savoury note, delicately intertwined with all the fresh-cut red floral notes. The wine is smooth, round and very approachable. There is a sappy-ness here that Pinot Noir is celebrated for. Tannins are low and acid is bright and fresh. No sense of heat, once again, due to under 13% alcohol by volume.
