Calling all whiskey connoisseurs, appreciators, fanatics and afficionados: The most exclusive whisky in the Okanagan valley has just become available, but there’s only two ways to get your hands on it.

Okanagan Spirits Craft Distillery has just announced the opening of their annual lottery for The Laird of Fintry Single Malt Whisky. Lucky winners of this lottery will have the chance to purchase the award winning small-batch whisky for $75 a bottle. That's probably a good deal, considering a bottle of the 2018 Laird of Fintry fetched $4,500 at a local charity auction this year.

The Laird of Fintry is distilled from locally grown malted barley, then aged in white oak casks before being finished in Quail's Gate fortified old-vines foch French Oak barrels. Quail's Fortified Foch is dark with aromas of cherry, raisin, fig, chocolate and candied orange rind. It's flavour is rich, sweet and decadent.

Time is limited for this lottery, as the entrance period closes September 25. If you’re wondering if the whiskey’s worth it, visit the Okanagan Spirits Craft Distillery for tastings of the 2018 Original Laird, 2018 Cask Strength and 2019 Rum Barrel finish Laird to see for yourself. If you're already convinced, sign up for the lottery here.

For those devotees who need their yearly whisky guaranteed, Okanagan Spirits has announced an Exclusive Barrel Room Whisky Club for anyone who wants to ensure they get a full line up of all their whiskys every year, and that includes the Laird of Fintry Single Malt. In addition to the spirits, members will get two whisky glasses, a Laird of Fintry T-shirt, a wooden six-pack box and a whisky tour for two at the Vernon Distillery valued at $80.
