Where to find the best hot chocolate in Kamloops, Okanagan
It's getting colder out there, and it's right about time to start thinking about cuddling up to a roaring fire with a steamy cup of hot chocolate.
There's no reason to settle for instant hot chocolate mix — any occasion is a good excuse to treat yourself with the best. We asked you on Facebook where to find the best cup of hot chocolate in Kamloops and the Okanagan.
Here's a list of some of your favourite hot chocolate spots.
Kamloops
Check out this local gem at 289 Tranquille Road, or their Sahali location at 1210 Summit Drive. They also serve a variety of sweet baked goods and lunch items.
They're open Monday to Saturday from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Sundays 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.
The Vic is known for their coffee and in-house fresh baked goods, but they've got some creative tricks up their sleeve when it comes to hot chocolate. Earlier this year they had a strawberry white hot chocolate, and they offer mochas (hot chocolate with espresso) all year round.
They're located at 377 Victoria Street downtown. They're open Monday to Saturday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Blenz has long been known for their hot chocolate, and here's the secret: they melt Belgian chocolate chips into every cup. They offer dairy-free dark chocolate, milk chocolate, or white chocolate. You can also get a mocha made the same way, with espresso shots for that extra kick.
You'll find Blenz in Kamloops at 210 Victoria Street and in the Aberdeen Mall. On Victoria Street they're open 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday to Friday, Saturday 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and closed Sunday. In Aberdeen Mall, they're open 9:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday to Saturday, and 10:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sundays.
Okanagan
Kootenay Coffee Co. - Kelowna
Kootenay Coffee is located in the Willow Park Shopping Centre in Rutland. They're open 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday to Friday and from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on weekends.
Try their giant, freshly baked in-house cinnamon buns with your hot chocolate.
Blenz - Kelowna, Vernon, Penticton
You can grab a Blenz hot chocolate, made with real chocolate chips, at any location in the Okanagan. In Kelowna, Blenz is located downtown on Bernard, in Orchard Park mall, and at 2823 Pandosy Street.
Their Pandosy location is open 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday to Friday, and 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on weekends. Downtown they're open 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday to Friday and 8 to 8 on weekends. In the mall, Blenz is open 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily except Sunday, their hours are 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
In West Kelowna, Blenz is at 3645 Gosset Road, open from 7 to 7 daily.
In Vernon, Blenz is located at 5100 Anderson Way, open from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday to Saturday and 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Sunday.
In Penticton, Blenz is located at 284 Main Street. they're open Monday to Friday from 6:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. and weekends 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Pulp Fiction - Kelowna
Pulp Fiction has a big collection of antique books, funky, photo-worthy decor, and they're a favourite local spot for hot chocolate too.
They're located on the corner of Pandosy Street and Lawrence Avenue, open 7 to 7 on weekdays and 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. on the weekend. Their second location is now open in the The District mall on Bernard Avenue, open from 10 to 5:30 p.m. Monday to Saturday.
Bean to Cup - Vernon
Bean to Cup is a local favourite in Vernon. Not only do they roast their own coffee beans in house, but they also have delicious hot chocolate. If you're feeling adventurous, you can add a flavour shot to your drink, like peppermint, English toffee or hazelnut.
They're open daily from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. located at 3903 27 Street.
Accent Chocolate - Penticton
One look at the decadent hot chocolate served up at Accent Chocolate will have your mouth watering. They pile your drink high with a mix of chocolate and regular whipped cream, and add a drizzle of caramel sauce.
Accent Chocolate also sells specialty chocolates and treats made in house. Care for a plate of truffles with your hot chocolate? There's no such thing as too much chocolate.
They're located at 564 Main Street, open Monday to Friday from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.
