The South Okanagan has a new microbrewery.

Watermark Beach Resort has announced the opening of North Basin Brewing in Osoyoos, making it the first microbrewery to set up shop in the community, according to a media release. The new brewery and taproom had a socially-distanced grand opening event Jan. 22 and 23.

“The Okanagan is one of British Columbia’s best-known wine regions so we wanted to showcase that there’s more to this area than just wine,” North Basin Brewing Company co-owner Wesley Grave said in the release.

“We’ve called Osoyoos home for a long time and just wanted to create something that’s fun and laid back.”

The taproom has 10 beers available in styles ranging from pale ales to pilsners, along with a traditional IPA and a Kolsch.

A full beer menu and curbside pickup orders can be made at North Basin Brewing's website here.

It is located adjacent to the Watermark Beach Resort at 15 Park Place in Osoyoos and is open 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily.
