There was a busy lunchtime rush at the new TacoTime today, Feb. 10, 2022.

Two new fast-food restaurants have opened in Vernon.

Triple O's and TacoTime have both opened their doors to the public.

The take-out only TacoTime is located at the site of the previous Daily Grind Coffee and Bistro location at 27 Street and 28 Avenue.

The Mexican fast-food chain opened its doors Wednesday, Feb. 9, and judging by the long line-up of vehicles at lunchtime today, Feb. 10, the restaurant will be popular.

There's no seating at the TacoTime, but along with the drive-thru section, there is a walk-up window to order from for those not in vehicles.

The restaurant is open from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. seven days a week.

The franchised restaurant is owned by the same people as the TacoTime in Kelowna on Hollywood Road South.

Less than one kilometre north at 3621 27 Street, Triple O's has opened.

The restaurant, which also features a drive-thru, is run by former mayor and current city councillor Akbal Mund and is open 7 a.m. to 9 p.m.

According to its website, Triple O's has 70 locations across B.C. and is referred to as the cousin of White Spot which opened its first restaurant in 1928.

TacoTime launched more than 40 years ago with its first restaurant opening in Lethbridge, Alberta. It now has 120  locations across the country.
