Stuck at home? Maybe free local online cooking classes would help
Staying at home offers the perfect time to reconnect with your kitchen and get the whole family involved to plan, prep and create meals together. Now is also the perfect time to order a new cookbook online or sign up for some online cooking classes.
Local Start Fresh Kitchen is not letting social distancing measures keep them from sharing their expertise with the community. Chef Michael Buffett and his team are rolling with the times and since cancelling their own class schedule, they have created an online cooking school. They will be posting several free classes per week that offer a fun and inspiring opportunity to hone your skills and learn new recipes — together.
“We know a lot of people are at home right now, trying to figure out what to cook, and what to do with their family. We hope that providing free cooking classes can bring families together during this time of crisis, to reconnect around food,” Buffett says.
There are already some of the delicious recipes up online to entice you like Chef Alex Lavroff’s delicious Spanish Prawns. Watch here.
“If you support these classes, you are supporting an incredible local business and giving us all hope for a light at the end of the tunnel. Start Fresh Kitchen does so much for the community and has personally helped me so much that I just wanted to see them weather this storm with all of my heart," Chef Lavroff says. "They provide work for socially disadvantaged people and now they need support in a disadvantaged time. I hope everyone loves the classes.”
They are also offering a virtual coaching service, allowing Chef Buffett to help you through a challenging recipe that you have always wanted to create, or work with you through an entire lesson as if he was standing at your side. Email: info@startfreshproject.com for booking.
Start Fresh Project also has a farm operation in Kelowna that will have news soon on home delivery options. Stay up to date with all of their innovative plans on their website.
