Soul Sundays at Home Block: Kelowna's destination brunch spot
CedarCreek Estate Winery captivated us with the unveiling of Home Block Restaurant last year followed by their sleek and sophisticated new tasting room. The rest of the project will follow over the next year and no doubt there will be more delight to follow.
Home Block Restaurant is set on the Home Block vineyard and is perfectly situated on the hillside to capture the optimum views of sparkling Okanagan Lake below as well as encapsulating the idyllic vinyardscape surrounding it.
Chef Neil Taylor is at the helm of Home Block and has created a menu to thrill. Drawing from his rich and diverse culinary background, that includes two major award-winning Vancouver restaurants, he infuses his passion for Mediterranean cuisine into his dishes. Rustic, simple flavours using the highest quality ingredients are his mantra, and his passion and skill are palpable.
Thankfully Home Block decided to remain open for us throughout the winter season and have created a wonderful respite for locals. The gorgeous room is cozy in the winter and wonderfully airy in the summer and here one can now enjoy a break from the grey days by catching the vibe of Soul Sundays. A new menu has been created for this weekly Sunday event and it is all about soothing the soul.
Comfort food to the max here, with dishes served all day long. Plus there is a special roast feature each week to cover that wonderful Sunday Roast tradition from the UK. Snuggle in with friends around a table with a bottle of CedarCreek’s gorgeous Rosé and chill out to the sounds of soul music and happy diners. Brunch on, brothers and sisters.
