Renovations complete: Kelowna's former Fernando’s Pub transformed into tavern
The former site of a popular Mexican bar in downtown Kelowna has been transformed into a new tavern.
Leopold’s Tavern is known for its “dive bar” look but they consider themselves to be a community pub, said regional manager Dave Sauve with Leopold's, in a previous interview with iNFOnews.
Fernando's said it struggled for some time and closed last year due to COVID-19.

Kelowna’s growth, and more people moving from the Lower Mainland, make it an attractive location for the Leopold's bar chain, Sauve said.
“We want to bet big on Kelowna, we think it’s going to continue to grow,” he said. “There are so many amazing entrepreneurs and businesses and we just want to be a part of it.”
The tavern officially opened Feb. 21, according to its Facebook page.
Kelowna’s location is the 18th Leopold's Tavern in Canada.
The bar is currently open from 3 p.m. to 2 a.m., Monday to Friday and on Saturday and Sunday from 12 p.m. to 2 a.m.
