Popular Mexican pub in downtown Kelowna closing for good

After 10 years, a popular Kelowna Mexican pub is closing its doors for good.

Fernando's Pub announced yesterday, Sept. 16 it is shutting down in two weeks.

“Things have been a little challenging for some time now - but we’re not going to get into that. What remains is a few weeks more where we hopefully get to see you again. See your faces, say “so long” and thank you for being so supportive,” reads the pub’s Facebook post.

Like many restaurants and bars, the pub has faced challenges throughout the pandemic. Last year, it decided to close for the winter months, citing COVID-19 restrictions as the cause.

“It's with heavy hearts we announce our closure. Please treat our staff with kindness and patience as we are dealing with a staff shortage for the next two weeks. We love everyone who has supported us over the last decade,” the pub wrote on its Facebook post.
