A new Middle Eastern restaurant is opening up in the Sahali mall in Kamloops soon, one of a string that have been popping up across the country.

Pita Land is known for its fresh, authentic cuisine and comfort foods that showcase the flavours and spices of all the Middle Eastern cultures.d

“The chicken shawarma is the big favourite,” said company director, Eleanor Reynolds. “The chicken is so fresh and melts in your mouth.”

Reynolds said she is excited to bring the authentic flavours to the Kamloops location, which is soon to open. She has been busy helping to set up more of the restaurants on this side of the country.

“We just expanded in the Calgary market and area ready to open our third restaurant there in a matter of months,” she said. “We are excited to enter the B.C. market in Kamloops and Vancouver.”

The menu includes mid-eastern favourites like shawarma, falafel, gyros, souvlaki, kebabs and signature potato bowls. There are gluten-free and dairy-free options as well as vegetarian and keto, and everything served is certified Halal.

“The cuisine really captures the Middle Eastern culture and we are really looking forward to bringing these flavours to Kamloops,” Reynolds said.

The Pita Land franchise was started in downtown Toronto in 2003 by a family from the Middle East who immigrated to Canada and wanted to share their healthy, cultural dishes with their community.

“We have made it our passion and our goal to bring our family’s table to yours, to share with everyone the healthy, fresh foods that we enjoy with our family, friends and community at home and at our gatherings,” Reynolds said. “We invite you to the Pita Land table, to sit down and enjoy a good meal with the people around you.”

There's no opening date yet.
