Novel set in Okanagan vineyards 'Isla Mujeres Mysteries' spinoff
A murder mystery author has set her newest novel in the Okanagan Valley after moving back to Penticton.
Lynda L. Lock spent 12 years living near Cancun, Mexico, she said in an email, which exposed her to real-life pirates, murders, political scandals, police corruption and hurricanes.
While living in Mexico she wrote a six-book series called Isla Mujeres Mysteries which encompassed all of those themes.

Lock returned to Penticton in 2020 and earlier this year she wrote Corked, Death in the Vineyards as a spinoff to the Isla Mujeres Mysteries.
She said her new book focuses on murder, mayhem, revenge and romance – and features two themes that are close to her heart: Canada and wine.
Corked, Death in the Vineyards can be purchased at Ruby Blues Winery in Penticton or online through Amazon, and the Penticton Public Library has all seven of Lock’s novels.
