There will soon be three more places for Mexican food lovers to stop for a bite at in Kamloops, two on the North Shore and one out in Valleyview.

Taco Alley is almost ready for its soft launch and the owners have been busy hiring staff for the location at the Yew Street Food Hall on the North Shore this past month.

Staff at Taco Alley has been testing the menu since late December and started a Facebook page recently where foodies can follow along for updates on the menu and the opening date.

Add to this to two well-known fast food franchises Barburrito and TacoTime.

Construction is underway for Barburrito at the former Starbucks location which is connected to the Northills Mall.

The Canadian company has opened 300 locations since first opening in Toronto in 2005 and offers burritos, burrito bowls, street tacos, quesadillas and sides. The Kamloops location is listed as “coming soon" on the company website.

A sign for TacoTime is up at Orchards Walk in the Valleyview neighbourhood although an opening date isn’t clear. The franchise offers burritos, tacos, taco salads and quesadillas.

Providing the best taco in Kamloops could be tricky with numerous restaurants offering Mexican food in the city.

The top rated tacos in Kamloops are found at Haciendo Cielito Lindo and Casa Azul downtown, and the Forklift in Aberdeen, according to a Yelp review.
