New flavours coming to South Okanagan’s District Wine Village
Turnover is underway at the District Wine Village in Oliver.
The brewery and eatery operated by the Trading Post – which has two locations in the Lower Mainland – will no longer be part of the Wine Village.
Although it was the only brewery at the Wine Village, “Rest assured the craft beer will continue to flow,” operations director Michael Daley said in an email.
Trading Post was also the place to get food.
“This was an orchestrated move to up the culinary experience at the Village,” Daley said.
Yesterday, Feb. 24, it was announced that Ward's Wine Country Kitchen would be the new tenant.
“Ward's will offer a selection of signature seasonal cocktails, along with a varied selection of wine and craft beer produced on site by the neighbours within the village,” a press release from the Wine Village says. “Special events, wine education experiences and themed dinners will become a part of the programming a few months after opening.”
Ward's is expected to open towards the beginning of April.

And with another lease expiring soon, the Wine Village is also looking for a new winery to move in.
“If you know of someone interested please have them reach out,” Daley said.
