Mushroom Mania across the province
Are you a mushroom lover? The Okanagan Mushroom Festival is coming up and Start Fresh Kitchen is preparing to knock your caps off with another delectable event with Sandhill Wines.
The event will be set up with chef stations manned by some of our Okanagan’s best. There will be a mushroom gelato bar by amazing local gelato makers Victor and Kevin from QB Gelato and talks by a local forager and mushroom farmer. The finale of the day will be the annual long table dinner event featuring six wine-paired courses in Sandhill’s wine cellar.
Also on offer will be a field trip with foraging expert Scott Moran. Scott will be loading up a foraging bus that will head into the woods where he will demonstrate how and what is available to forage from our very own local biosphere at this time of year. You will recognize Scott from the Kelowna Farmers & Crafters Market. He is the guy behind the big pile of mushrooms.
The Okanagan Mushroom Festival is on September 28, 2019 and festivities are from 12:00 PM -6:00 PM with the dinner beginning at 6:30 Sandhill Winery, 1125 Richter Street, Kelowna.
