There has been a beautiful rainbow emerging from this storm we are in — love. Community love, family love, planet love, we as Canadians seem to truly be excelling when it comes to a collective response in the face of danger.

There are so many local examples of community spirit and kindness with many businesses showing their love and admiration for our healthcare workers and brave first responders. I hope everyone is joining in the 7 p.m. cheering sessions for the healthcare community happening across the province. If you need a happy shot right to the heart – do chime in.

Here are three local food businesses that are helping by feeding those on the front lines:

Sandrine’s French Pastry & Chocolate:
Our beloved French treat maker remains open from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday to Saturday and are taking great precautions and allowing only one customer at a time. They are also offering curb side delivery with and home doorstep delivery- so no need to go into pain au chocolat withdrawals! They're doing their part to raise the spirits of our local heroes working at the hospital by delivering a pile of macarons to them (note the hospital is no longer allowing deliveries of any kind). Here’s an idea – order some delicious treats to have delivered to a healthcare worker or lonely friend in isolation.
Order over the phone 250-860-1202 or on their website here.

The Table at Codfathers is showing their appreciation to healthcare workers by offering discounts and providing locals a chance to help feed them too.

Fish & Chips are always a good idea. The crew at The Table at Codfathers is offering curbside takeaway and delivery right now.

And they are showing big love for the hospital world offering $10 (all in) fish and chips delivery or curbside pickup from Tuesday through Saturday 4-7:30 p.m. to all hospital staff.

They are also offering a Pay it Forward Deal: For $18 you get a 1 pc Fish and Chips meal for yourself and one meal will be added to the board for any health care worker who comes in. Call 250-868-9981 to order. You can find their menu on their website here.

Taco Tuesdays with Margaritas and all can be picked up from Krafty Kitchen downtown Kelowna. They are offering discounts for our healthcare workers.

Krafty Kitchen & Bar:

Downtown fave Krafty Kitchen & Bar is offering two menus – the Krafty Curbside Dinner Menu and a Family Style Menu for their customers. They have just added Taco Tuesday to the menu - you can even order a bottle of wine or a delicious margarita to go.

They are also offering kindness to our brave caregivers —15% off all curbside, take-out and delivery and free coffee to all healthcare and first responders. Please call 250-868-7228 or email orders in.
