Summerland’s Kettle Valley Railway is hosting a unique wine and food event following its inaugural success earlier this year.

The Grand Sommelier Express is returning to the Summerland steam train on Saturday, June 20, 2020.

The 2019 version sold out, so next year more tickets will be available for sale.

This heritage steam train wine and food event is the only event of its kind in the Okanagan and in B.C., according to a media release from the Bottleneck Drive Association.

The steam train ride is combined with onboard wine tasting while taking in the scenery of the Kettle Valley Railway in Summerland. The train stops at the historic Trout Creek trestle for photos and local food tastings paired with Summerland craft beverages.

Two trains are scheduled for the June 20 event at 1 p.m. and 5 p.m. Following the return to the station, a gourmet reception will be waiting catered by Brodo Kitchen and again paired with local Summerland wine, cider, beer and spirits. Local craft beverage and winemakers will be on hand along with live music.

Tickets are $150 plus tax with an early bird price of $125 until December 31. For tickets, click this link.
