Dreamed of having a fresh, local farm market to shop at every day instead of planning for specific farmers market days? Glenmore Garden Market has you covered. Open every day from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., the lovely Chen family has a big beautiful spray-free farm that grows an enormous variety of vegetables, fruits and herbs.

Owners Yang and Limei Chen established their 13-acre farm in the Glenmore neighbourhood in 2003 and there they raised three children, all contributing to the family business. Eldest son Wei and his wife Elly have continued on with the family business and they are the friendly faces that will greet you at their farm gate market. The family decided this year not to participate in the Kelowna Farmers & Crafters Market so regulars who were not aware of their urban farm with such close proximity to town, will be thrilled with this news.

This market really has it all, and at my one-stop shop, I filled my basket with: a huge bag of basil to make pesto, a bunch of golden beets, a stack of baby bok choy, washed mixed salad greens, strawberries, baby yellow and green zucchini, baby eggplant, rainbow swiss chard, a bunch of mint, raspberries, spinach and even a bouquet of flowers from their garden. The Chen’s also sell plants. Next up on the seasonal offerings, cherries. Shopping local is easy!
