Wine Wednesday: Kalala Rosé
Because this is the perfect time of year to drink pink, we have another rosé feature for you to sample.
West Kelowna is home to one of our premier organic wineries, Kalala Organic Estate Winery. The name Kalala translates to ‘miracle place’, a wonderful name to describe this organic haven. Kalala is a great example of how amazing organic wines taste.
Winemaker Tibby Erdelyi and owner Karnail Singh Sidhu decided to make a rosé after much deliberation. And it is a beauty! The lovely pink hue of this inviting wine offers aromas of strawberry, raspberry, lemon zest and honeysuckle. On the palate, there are notes of strawberry, watermelon and lemon. It is a delicious mouthful of flavor and the fresh acidity makes it great food wine. It is a blend of 65 per cent Gewurztraminer, 20 per cent, Zweigelt, 10 per cent Pinot Noir and five per cent Merlot and is a great price at the winery for $22. #roseallday
