Uber had notified its drivers that it’s time to download the driver app and get ready to start picking up passengers in Kelowna next week.

The ride hailing company was approved to operate throughout most of B.C. earlier this month but will only operate in Kelowna and Victoria initially.

A news release from the company doesn’t say what day service will start, just that drivers should download the driver app.

Drivers who take 20 trips within the first 14 days of the launch will get a $1,000 bonus.
