Two motorcycle crashes on the weekend claimed the lives of both riders, one on Barnharvale Road in Kamloops and the other on Highway 5.

Officers were call to a single-vehicle crash in the 8500-block of Barnharvale Road at approximately 5:40 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 23, according to an RCMP media release.

Despite the efforts for bystanders and emergency personnel, the motorcyclist didn't make it.

Another single-vehicle crash involving a motorcycle happened at around 9:45 p.m. on Saturday, claiming the life of the rider.

The crash happened on Highway 5 near Timber Lake Forest Service Road, RCMP said. Bystanders and emergency crews tried to save the person's life but they were unsuccessful.

RCMP and BC Coroners Service are investigating both fatal crashes.

Anyone who witnessed or captured video footage of the collisions is asked to call Kamloops RCMP at 250-8328-3000.
