One dead in crash with semi near Merritt
The passenger in a pickup truck died after a crash with a semi earlier this week.
Merritt and Kamloops RCMP responded to a call about a collision between a pickup and a semi on Highway 97C around 8 p.m. on Jan. 23, according to a press release from RCMP.
The passenger in the pickup was pronounced dead on the scene, and the driver was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
The release does not say if the semi driver has been charged, only that they are uninjured and cooperating with the investigation.
Merritt RCMP and BC Highway Patrol Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Services are still investigating.
The road conditions were reportedly poor. One truck slid into the ditch and the two trucks hit.
RCMP are not releasing details of those involved.
