Kamloops cops stop delivery van thief with spike belt
Someone stole a delivery van in Kamloops and police deployed a spike belt on the highway to stop them.
Kamloops RCMP were called about a van theft on the North Shore near Tranquille Road and Simcoe Avenue around 11 a.m. today, June 13, according to a press release from police.
The thief drove off and officers saw the delivery van driving dangerously and erratically. Police decided to use a spike belt near Grand Boulevard as the van was coming to a stop west of Pat Road on the East Trans Canada Highway.
The driver was arrested and police anticipate they will be charged.
