A northern pacific rattlesnake got the ride of its life after a wildlife centre says it hitched a ride in a Ferarri from the South Okanagan and ended up in the Lower Mainland.

The Wildlife Rescue Association of B.C., based in Burnaby, posted to its Facebook page saying last week its support centre received a call about a snake spotted inside a Ferrari dealership in Vancouver.

“To our surprise, a photo determined it wasn’t a local garter snake, but a northern pacific pattlesnake,” according to the centre's post.

They dispatched a rescue volunteer who brought the snake to the Dewdney Animal Hospital in Maple Ridge.

“Dr. Adrian Walton and his team discovered the snake had been microchipped for a research survey which means they know exactly where to take this snake home. With the help of local authorities, this visitor will soon be back home to the Nk’Mip Desert,” according to the post.

A video posted by the animal hospital said they believe the snake hitched a ride in a Ferrari from Osoyoos and that’s how it ended up at the dealership.

The snake won’t be getting such a glamorous ride back, the animal hospital said the snake, now named Enzo, will likely return to the Okanagan in a grey Toyota Tacoma.
