The driver of a pickup truck that slammed into a parked truck on a Kelowna residential street earlier this week will likely be charged with drunk driving.

Police were called to the 600 block of Cook Road in Kelowna at around 7 p.m. Tuesday, April 25, according to an RCMP media release.

The person behind the wheel of a white pickup was driving westbound on Cook Road when they slammed into a parked truck and wound up in someone’s front yard.

The incident was caught on another driver's dash cam.

The driver was arrested for drunk driving while their passenger was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Police took the driver to the detachment for breath samples and they were released from custody with court date.

“Charges of Impaired Operation Causing Bodily Harm will likely be forwarded to the BC Prosecution Service for charge assessment,” reads the RCMP release.
