iN TRAFFIC: Temperatures remain below freezing in the Interior
It's going to be another cold day in Kamloops and the Okanagan.
A special weather statement by Environment Canada regarding unseasonably cold weather in Southern B.C. came to an end this morning. However it is still going to be a cold day – Kamloops will get a high of -6 Celsius and low of -10 C. Vernon and Kelowna are both in for a high of -4 C and low of -10 C. And Penticton will get a high of -2 C and low of -9 C. Above-freezing temperatures are not in the forecast until Feb. 2.
DriveB.C. is reporting Highway 1 has slippery sections between Chase and Sicamous; Highway 3 has slippery sections from Hedley to Keremeos; Highway 5 has slippery sections between the Great Bear Snowshed and Coquihalla Summit; Highway 6EW has slippery sections from Vernon to Coldstream; and Highways 97A and 97B both have slippery sections throughout.
At the ski hills, Big White Mountain Resort is reporting no new snow but 30 centimetres over the past week; there has been 29 cm at Sun Peaks Ski Resort since last past week; SilverStar Mountain Resort has a fresh snow depth of 7 cm today; and Apex Mountain Resort is reporting 26 cm over the past week.
