Highway 1 near Spences Bridge is closed after a fiery wreck along the Fraser Canyon route.

A video posted to social media shows two commercial trucks and debris scattered across the road after a collision today, Oct. 5.

The crash occurred at around 7 a.m. and at least one truck caught on fire after the crash just north of Spences Bridge, between Friesen Road and Basque Road.

RCMP said one of the drivers involved in the collision remains unaccounted for at this time. The other truck driver spoke with police.

BC Emergency Health Services said two ambulances were called and one person was treated at the scene for minor injuries. No one required transport to hospital, according to a spokesperson.

It's not known what caused the collision.

A video of the aftermath posted online by Skilled Truckers Canada shows one truck with damage to its front end and its trailer tipped over, which spilled what appears to be scrap aluminum. The other truck in the background isn't clearly visible beyond the flames and smoke.

Traffic between Ashcroft and Spences Bridge is being rerouted to highways 97C, 5, 99 and 8.

RCMP said the highway will remain closed for an extended period of time.
