Witness to fatal pedestrian collision near Hope sought by BC highway patrol
British Columbia Highway Patrol is looking to connect with witnesses of a fatal pedestrian collision on Highway 1.
On July 29, a collision was reported at 12:59 a.m., regarding a male pedestrian who, according to a RCMP release, may have parked a motorcycle on the side of the highway and may have been seen walking along the side of the road.
Police believe the occurrence of the collision to have been between 12 a.m. and 12:45 a.m. with the report following soon after.
The collision occurred west of Exit 165 to Flood Hope Road on Highway 1.
“We are appealing to commercial vehicles, and anyone with dashcam, who may have been travelling westbound or eastbound on Highway 1 in the Exit 165 area between midnight and 1 a.m. on July 29, 2024, to contact BC Highway Patrol at (604) 702-4039 and refer to file 2024-32071,” Cpl. Melissa Jongema of BC Highway Patrol said in the release.
