Fatal crash dirt bike crash on Kelowna forest service road
A 30-year-old man riding a dirt bike didn't survive a collision with a pickup truck on a forest service road outside of Kelowna late last week.
Officers were called at around 8:20 p.m. Friday, June 23, to assist paramedics at the scene of a collision between the bike and pickup approximately five kilometres up Postill Lake Forest Service Road, according to an RCMP media release.
The pickup was travelling east and the dirt bike was going west when they collided, RCMP said. The man riding the bike was killed. Neither vehicle had any passengers.
The investigation into the crash is ongoing.
According to social media reports, the man who was killed was a member of the Okanagan Forest Task Force and leaves behind a wife and daughter.
An online fundraiser has been launched for his family.
