Yellowstone Ranch near Beaverdell auctioned for $15 million

The auction of a 73,000-acre ranch near Beaverdell, east of Kelowna, wound up at 11:48 a.m. today, Aug. 14.

The starting bid was $5.9 million at 8:35 a.m. and increased by $25,000 increments before the auction was cut off after it reached $15 million.

As the auction, run by CLH Bid out of Alberta, was drawing to a close, the time left to bid was extended slightly until no more bids were made.

In the final 12 minutes, the price climbed by $2 million.

Given the popularity of the TV show, Yellowstone, the ranch was being marketed as 'Yellowstone North of 49.'

It comes with a a 5,156 square foot furnished ranch house with four bedrooms and five bathrooms, a 2,156-square foot log garage with a secondary suite above and a 2,535-square foot ranch manager’s home.

There are 670 deeded acres and a 73,000 acre grazing licence, an indoor riding arena, numerous water wells and an irrigation system.

While the final bid was almost triple the list price, it’s still only considered an offer to purchase until the owner formally accepts it.
