Kelowna is ranked as the fifth most expensive city to rent an apartment out of the 24 largest cities in Canada.

This comes despite the fact that the median rental rate for a one-bedroom apartment remained flat at $1,600, according to online rental site Zumper in a news release issued today, Sept. 15.

Two-bedroom units, however, went up 5.1 per cent, month to month, to $2,080.

Zumper, which is an international site, says it compiles data for the Canadian report from more than 100 active rental listings to calculate the median prices.

It ranks Vancouver as the most expensive place to rent in Canada at $2,100 for a one-bedroom apartment, a five per cent increase, month over month.

Toronto is second at $1,770 followed by Barrie, Ontario at $1,720 and Victoria at $1,670.

No other B.C. cities are listed in the report.
