First baby born in the Okanagan in 2023 is a girl
The first baby born in the Okanagan this year is from Peachland.
Baby Eleanor was born at Penticton Regional Hospital on Jan. 1 at 1:40 a.m. to parents Lisa and Steve Guderyan, weighing 6.14 lbs.
“I’d like to give a shout out to my great hospital team who care of us,” Lisa said. “There were some staffing issues but my little girl waited to be born until the relief nurse came in.”
Lisa recently started a new job in Peachland as a school trustee and will be bringing baby Eleanor to school board meetings “as long as she cooperates.”
The New Year’s baby is the third girl in the family, with older sister’s Janet and Hailey.
