Emergency crews respond to house fire in Kamloops

Emergency crews are on scene this afternoon at a house fire in Kamloops.

Police officers, ambulance personnel and firefighters are on scene at a fire on Desmond Street.

Firefighters are currently inside the building and smoke was seen coming out of the windows, Oct. 23, just before 3 p.m.

Kamloops Fire Rescue platoon captain Jim Gorman said the fire has been knocked down and no one was injured. Burned sections can be seen at the back of the home.

The fire started at 2:26 p.m. and three people were inside the house at the time it began.

The cause is under investigation.
