Two victims of a home invasions in B.C. had nothing to do with the marijuana grow-op on site.

They suffered minor injuries after a group of men dressed in dark clothing entered their residence before displaying a firearm and assaulting them, according to a media release from the Abbotsford Police Department, which says the victims were “incredibly shaken."

Although there was a grow-op on site, the victims were not associated with it, according to the police. They worked for a farm on the same property.

Abbotsford Police’s Major Crimes Unit has taken over the investigation.

“This incident is incredibly concerning to the AbbyPD as, in this case, innocent people were targeted in this act of violence,” the release says. “AbbyPD is reminding those that house marijuana grow operations on residential properties within the City, that these operations pose a significant risk to public safety not only to the occupants of these operations but to the nearby residents as well.”
