PENTICTON - Penticton will see a B.C. Cannabis Store opening in Penticton later this year, and representatives from the B.C. Liquor Distribution Branch were on hand at the Penticton Lakeside Resort yesterday hosting a job fair.

Director of retail operations Kevin Satterfield said he was pleased with the turnout, which had seen around 75 prospective employees visit the fair by late afternoon yesterday, July 2.

The job fair was seeking to fill a store manager’s position, two assistant manager positions, six full-time cannabis consultants and eight part-time auxiliary consultants.

Several staff members were on hand to discuss the jobs available and answer any questions.

Prospective employees need to file an online application for the positions available.

“We’re interested in people with a good solid retail background, and good product knowledge of cannabis, to provide something we can build off. We’re just talking to people, seeing what their information is and seeing what their interest is,” Satterfield said.

The Penticton B.C. Cannabis store is expected to open in the Power Centre Mall sometime in October or November.
