Some Esso and Mobile gas stations have run short of fuel at their pumps in the Okanagan and Kamloops over the past few days and that's going to continue for a few more days.

Imperial Oil says that was due to an ethanol shortage at the Suncor terminal in Kamloops. It has a "fuelling agreement" with Suncor for the region.

“Our ethanol supply chain has improved over the past few days and deliveries restarted from the terminal (Monday),” Keri Scobie, manager of public and government affairs for Imperial Oil, said in an email to iNFOnews.ca, June 28. “Our current supply outlook is that our inventories will be back to regular levels early to mid-next week.”

She did not say what caused the shortage.

A number of posts on the Kelowna Alert Facebook page referred to shortages in Mobile and Esso stations in various parts of Kelowna earlier this week.

There were also reports of some stations being out of regular gas and selling premium for the same price.

Kamloops Esso and Mobile stations were also reported to have some shortages.
