Vernon RCMP executed a search warrant last week and found a handgun, cash, drugs and a large number of bikes.

RCMP got a complaint about a weapon in a residence on 33 Street on the evening of Oct. 13, according to an RCMP press release.  In response, several officers were sent to the property where they found a stolen bike in the garage.

After getting a warrant to search the whole residence police found several stolen bikes along with a gun, some cash and drugs.

RCMP are currently trying to reunite the bikes with their owners.

All of the seized bikes can be seen here. People who have had their bike stolen in the area are encouraged to check the photos to see if their bike was recovered.

“A few of these bikes we recovered had been reported as stolen and because of that we were able to return them,” Vernon RCMP spokesperson Const. Chris Terleski said in the release.

“It’s a good example of why we encourage everyone to report all stolen property to us. In the event we do find it later on, it makes it easier for us to get it back to where it belongs. In any case, we would love to find the owners of these bikes so if yours has been stolen or gone missing, and you recognize one of these, give us a call.”

The investigation is ongoing, so RCMP have not said how many people were arrested or what they have been charged with.

If you think one of the bikes is yours, or if you have any information, contact Vernon RCMP at 250-545-7171 and quote file number 2023-18234.
